About Planet Papadum...

"With its seafront location, modern décor and colourful paintings of Bollywood dancers, Planet Papadum has quickly become by far the best around. It boasts an extensive menu of classic Indian dishes, but with a depth of flavour and quality ingredients that is often lacking in other establishments.

Manager Naz runs the front, while Head Chef Khan works his magic in the kitchen, producing food to suit all palates – a subtle, fragrant Lemon Grass Chicken for those who like things flavoursome but not too spicy, a zingy, tangy Balti Chicken Peshwari for those in the mid-range; and a fiery, explosive chilli chicken for those who prefer things sizzling hot.

Vegetable sides are particularly good, making this a popular place for vegetarians, and if you are lucky enough to visit on a quiet night, then Khan might have time to cook one of his many ‘off menu’ specials – just let him know how hot you like it and let him do the rest!

The chef there, Khan, has amazing talent and should stick far more of his own dishes on the menu, but I guess like lots of other Indian restaurant owners, he feels obliged to serve chicken tikka masalas, kormas, etc, rather than presenting people with a menu where they might not recognize anything. All his ‘off menu’ dishes are sensational, though – and got him quite a long way in last year’s Tiffin Cup!"

Every year the best South Asian Restaurant in United Kingdom (UK) is awarded Tiffin Cup. The nominations of the restaurants come from Members of Parliament who belong to the Tiffin Club.
This year Veetee Tiffin Cup 2009 was held on July 15. We are pleased to announce Planet Papadum finished the competition as the 1st runner up.
The winning dish, Tigers by the Sea (see our menu), was prepared by our chef, Musa Khan, according to his own recipe.
We wish to thank all our customers - we would not be where we are now without your continued support!
